President Mariano Rajoy was in Washington on Tuesday for talks with Donald Trump and members of his administration. Trade between the two countries was high on the agenda as Spain’s deficit with the US, which is Spain’s largest export market outside the EU, was €1,688 million last year. There are around 600 Spanish businesses active in the US employing some 96,000 staff.
