Marbella town hall has stated that it is preparing to carry out repairs on the Calle El Fuerte tunnel and aims to reopen it to traffic “as soon as possible”. The tunnel, which connects to Avenida Antonio Belón, was damaged on July 19 when a van that exceeded the posted maximum vehicle height hit the top of the tunnel, damaging and displacing one of the metal beams that support the structure.
