Marbella town hall has stated that within a month it will close down the town’s Huerta del Peñón rubbish tip, created in 1998, which it said has never met environmental regulations. The rubble and other items dumped there will instead be taken to the Costa’s main rubbish and recycling plant in Casares, while a project will be developed to seal the closed tip.
