Mijas town hall’s recently announced plans to hand over the collection of local taxes to the provincial collections office, the Patronato de Recaudación, has been swatted down after it failed to gain approval at last week’s council meeting. The governing team had said the move would save the town hall money, but it was staunchly opposed by workers and opposition councillors.
