An investigation is underway to discover how a snowplough fell off a bridge on the access road to the Sierra Nevada ski resort early on Sunday during clearing operations. The 35-year-old driver received a blow to the head but was otherwise uninjured. The road was subjected to serious traffic jams over the weekend because of abandoned vehicles and efforts were underway to clear the carriageway.
