A police checkpoint in Granada last week found a driver who was six times over the legal alcohol limit. Guardia Civil officers who stopped him on the N-323, the old road from Granada city to the coast, discovered he recorded 1.42 milligrams per litre of air, compared with the legal maximum of 0.25 milligrams. Driving with 0.6 milligrams or more is a criminal offence.
