Swimmers were ordered out of the water along the Playa de Fuengirola on Sunday after an alleged shark sighting. The red flag flew for five hours as a Guardia Civil boat searched for the shark, after the 112 emergency services line received multiple phone calls from people saying that they had seen a fin. The sea was evacuated and people were ferried from the floating water park back to land by jet-ski, before it was eventually reopened after the shark’s presence could not be confirmed.
