Benalmádena’s town hall announced last week that new municipal advertising regulations will prohibit advertisements that present women in a “degrading or discriminatory” way, use the female body as a “mere object” unlinked to the product being promoted, or promote prostitution or sexual exploitation, with fines for serious breaches of between €300 and €450. A draft version of the legislation, currently in a period of public consultation, has been published at www.benalmadena.es/portal -de-transparencia.php.
