The opposition PSOE in Estepona stated last week that it was “infuriated” at PP mayor José María García Urbano’s “signing a contract to the value of 48,279 euros” for a sculpture for a local roundabout “without public discussion or consultation with council members”. The PSOE said it is not against spending on culture but that such expenditures should be subject to “public knowledge and democratic approval”.
