Alhaurín de la Torre town hall has slammed the Junta de Andalucía’s plan to add six new classrooms to the Huerta Alta secondary school, rather than build an additional secondary school in the town as local officials have repeatedly requested. Mayor Joaquín Villanova sharply criticised the Junta’s “unilateral” move to boost Huerta Alta’s capacity, which he said will result in a “totally overcrowded” school.
