Málaga’s 75-year-old mayor, Francisco de la Torre, has announced he will run for a fifth term in office in next year’s municipal elections. He has been the city’s Partido Popular mayor since 2003 and his decision, made public on Monday, came after weeks of pressure for him to stand by colleagues. De la Torre said he will face next year’s vote “with enthusiasm and humility.”
