Mijas Pueblo’s horse carriage drivers have switched to rubber horseshoes for their animals in a move aimed at benefitting the horses at the same time as reducing the damage that the normal horseshoes had been causing to the village’s recently repaved and cobblestoned streets, said local councillor Nuria Rodríguez last week. She said several models were tested to find the one that works best.
