The N-340 coast road was blocked near Almuñécar last Thursday afternoon after a lamp-post collapsed across both carriageways. It is thought a landslip near the mouth of the Taramay tunnel destabilised the light. No vehicle was passing as it came down and no injuries were reported, although traffic was diverted for a time.
