Nerja plans to use part of the €5 million it has received from the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy to tackle environmental problems along the Chillar river. This will include a reception centre for visitors to enable access to the area to be controlled. The initiative will address recent concerns that excessive visitor numbers are causing environmental problems along the river’s course.
