Seven Spanish airlines have asked the government to withdraw the requirement to check passengers’ identities at the point of boarding. They say removal of the procedure would speed up embarkation by an average of five minutes. The operators are also asking for “adequate resources” at airports for the “efficient provision of services” and to avoid congestion, particularly during the peak summer months.
