A guard in the isolation ward at the Alhaurín de la Torre prison was attacked by an inmate last Friday, said the Acaip prison workers’ union. The inmate, a 28-year-old Ivory Coast man who the union described as having a psychological disorder, allegedly head-butted the guard in the face “without saying a word”, as he was being led back to his cell from the prison yard.
