Higher electricity bills are on the way after the price of power rose to its highest level so far this year on Monday. Between 7pm and 8pm, the cost rose to €182.54 per MegaWatt hour for consumers on the VBAC tariff. The consumer group OCU immediately asked the consumer watchdog, the National Commission for Markets and Competition, to explain why this peak occurred.
