Benalmádena’s Vithas Xanit hospital has become the first private health facility in Andalucía to perform an intracerebral mechanical thrombectomy, which was carried out on a 62-year-old patient who had a stroke. The procedure saw an intracranial blood clot removed from the person’s brain, which was operated on within hours of symptoms starting. Xanit’s Dr Diaz said the patient recovered successfully and the process will let them live a normal life.
