Council workers in Álora have been paid back for the December 2012 Christmas extra paycheque that was withheld from public employees in Spain as part of the government’s austerity measures at the time. The town hall said last week that its current economic situation allowed it to make the payments, at a total cost of €137,000 to the municipal coffers.
