OFFICER HONOURED
A police officer who has travelled to Greece twice in recent months to distribute clothing, food, medicine and toys to refugees has been honoured by Benalmádena’s council with a ‘person of the year’ award. The decision to recognise Gilberto Morales as Benalmadense del Año 2017 was unanimously approved at last Thursday’s council meeting. Mayor Victor Navas said Gilberto’s new honour recognises his “outstanding work in solidarity”.
