Torrox’s mayor, Oscar Medina of the Partido Popular party, last week suspended a meeting to discuss the town’s 2017 budget, after a pre-meeting briefing committee found that the PP, ruling in a minority, would not have the support of the town’s opposition parties. Sr Medina said if the budget isn’t approved by the end of the year “the payment of payroll to officials, and invoices to suppliers, will be in danger”.
