The Junta de Andalucía launched a new 3.2 million euro funding package to help some of the region’s tourist hotspots last week. The funding can be applied for by the region’s 18 ‘municipios turisticos’ – defined by the Junta as towns that have to “make a special financial, planning and organizational effort” due to their popularity. The five eligible towns in Málaga are Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Nerja and Ronda, and they have two weeks to present project proposals.
