Former Marbella mayor Julián Muñoz and lawyer José María del Nido were convicted last week for misappropriation of public funds in relation to the town hall’s contracting of public works to the Fergocon company, run by Sr del Nido’s two brothers. They were sentenced to two years and three months each and, along with six others convicted in the case, ordered to pay a total of 1.45 million euros in compensation to Marbella town hall.
