Two stretches of the N-340 in Granada have been named amongst the most dangerous roads in Spain. The European Road Assessment Programme assessments are based on the number of accidents recorded. Their report says the 16.5 kilometres between Maro and the outskirts of Almuñécar, and 16 kilometres around Salobreña continue to record significant numbers of incidents, despite the alternative A-7 autovía route being available.
