Midwife Crisis

Málaga’s College of Nursing has denounced the lack of midwives in the city’s hospitals. It says the Málaga Regional Hospital presently has seven positions unfilled and is urging the regional health authority to address the problem. The College adds that cutbacks mean that midwives are not being replaced as they retire which sometimes compromises the safety of patients.
