A 64-year-old man from Estepona died on Monday, after suffering a heart attack and waiting 90 minutes for an ambulance – despite living two minutes away from the town’s health centre. According to the man’s son, he was told to wait for an ambulance, as they were all in service. They were then later told than the nearest ambulance was in San Pedro, which arrived half an hour later. The man was stabilized but died when leaving the building he lived in.
