Benalmádena’s security councillor, Javier Marín, announced last week that crime has fallen in the town, with new state statistics showing that between January and June 2016, crimes and offences committed in the town have dropped by 14.9%, compared to the same period in 2015. Vehicle thefts decreased by 12.5% and robberies by 16.2%, with Marín saying that the figures recognise “the good work” of security forces.
