Both Málaga and Granada provinces recorded rises in unemployment in the first quarter of 2016. Totals were up 5% and 3.3% respectively, while the figure for Andalucía fell to just under 1.19 million, a rate of 29.7%. The national unemployment rate was down very slightly at 21% with 4,791,400 people out of work.
