The state prosecutor’s office is calling for Marbella’s former mayor, Marisol Yagüe, to face a further five-year jail sentence for reportedly hiring her former husband as general coordinator of the town hall’s tax office “without complying with any legal proceedings” in July 2003. Yagüe is currently in jail for her part in the Malaya scandal, and prosecutors are also requesting a 20-year ban from office, a fine and compensation to the council.
