Campillos town hall is to request that the government declare the town a catastrophe zone in order to receive relief funds for “extensive” damage caused when the Arroyo Rincón burst its banks during last Wednesday’s rainstorm. Mayor Francisco Guerrero laid much of the blame for the flooding on the Junta de Andalucía for having failed to clear the streambed despite a request by the town hall in October for it to do so.
