Four rivers in the Duero basin have risen to alarming levels in recent days. Towns in Zamora, León and Palencia are on alert with further rainfall predicted yesterday. The Duero itself has reached a record flow level in the current hydrological year and some farmland and riverside walks have already been flooded. Most of Castilla y Léon was on yellow alert by Tuesday.
