An 87-year-old woman died in a fire at her home, on Calle Conde de las Navas in Málaga’s El Palo district, on Christmas Eve. Firefighters, police and health authorities were quickly on the scene after the alarm was raised by neighbours who saw smoke at around 2.50pm, but could not save the woman, while her carer received treatment for smoke inhalation and shock.
