A man who allegedly set his mother’s Estepona home on fire in May 2014 went on trial last week, facing up to 18 years in prison. The public prosecutor says the man started the fire by setting a mattress alight. The mother was not home at the time, but adjacent homes were occupied, posing a risk to people’s lives. However, the quick action of firefighters prevented the blaze spreading to the other homes.
