Over 137,000 dogs and cats were rescued by animal protection groups in Spain last year. Monday’s report from Fundación Affinity shows that the number of animals has been dropping over recent years, but the pet advocacy group adds it is “still very high.” Around 44% of animals were re-homed while, thanks to the use of microchips, 20% were returned to owners who lost them.
