Spain has one of the highest rates of drug use in Europe, according to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction. It says the country has a particularly high consumption of cocaine and cannabis, but warns that over-the-counter drugs including tranquilizers and sleeping pills have the highest rates and have escalated by more than in any other drug group in recent years.
