Ronda’s El Tajo gorge – and the Puente Nuevo bridge which spans across it – was the dramatic backdrop for the first European canyoning and vertical potholing open, and the fourth Andalucían open, last weekend. Many people ziplined across and rappelled down, around and beneath the iconic bridge, with a total of 214 people taking part in the different events. Spectators were able to watch from a screen near the town’s Parador de Turismo.
