An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 was recorded in Granada last Friday afternoon. The National Geographical Institute said the epicentre was ten kilometres below ground level at Cozvíjar, 28 kilometres south of the capital. The depth meant that the earth movement had minimal effect on the surface although the emergency services reported several calls to the 112 hotline.
