Marbella is bidding to be the site of next year’s first-round Davis Cup match-up between Spain and the UK, from February 2 to 4. The town hall has submitted its application to the Spanish Tennis Federation, proposing the Puente Romano tennis club as the site, with the addition of grandstands to increase seating capacity to 8,500. Other cities in the running or said to be considering it include Granada, Alicante and Murcia.
