A Málaga boat owner has been jailed for six years after hiring his zodiac inflatable boat out to bring 25 immigrants from Morocco to Spain, charging them €1,000 each. The craft, found at Caleta de Vélez in June, had no life jackets, adequate engine or food and water. A court in Málaga heard the occupants’ lives were in “real danger” and they had had to be rescued.
