Five arrests have been made by Guardia Civil officers as part of a crackdown against the theft of chestnuts during the Serranía de Ronda’s recent harvest season. Much of the tonne of stolen produce has been recovered, and officers said that citizen collaboration played an important part in detaining some of the suspects. The group were arrested in Igualeja, Pujerra, Cartajima, Parauta and Faraján.
