Former socialist defence minister Carmé Chacon was found dead at her Madrid home on Sunday. Chacon, aged 46, suffered from a congenital heart disease and is believed to have died from natural causes. In 2008, she became the first woman to head Spain’s Defence Ministry and was one of the key figures during the administration of José Luis Rodrígo Zapatero.
