Renfe’s Cercanías trains in Málaga province had a record year in 2016, breaking the 10.5 million-passenger mark for the first time, and posting a 6.2% increase on 2015 passenger numbers. The C-1 line between Málaga and Fuengirola made up the vast majority of users, with a total of 9.9 million passengers, while the C-2 Málaga-Álora line had 620,000.
