The number of visitors to Nerja’s famous caves rose by 20,000 during 2016, compared with 2015. The Caves Foundation said on Monday that the increase has boosted its balance for the year to €3.9 million, allowing for a 10% increase to 2017’s research and development budget. This has been the fourth consecutive year of visitor number growth.
