A 70-year-old man was taken to Vélez-Málaga Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation early on Saturday after a fire broke out in his caravan. The vehicle was parked close to the Chillar river in Nerja when the alarm was raised at 4.45am. The blaze in the van, found close to the town’s multi-purpose sports stadium, did not affect any other property.
