The owners of Camping Fuengirola, located between Mijas and Fuengirola, plan to re-develop the land and create a new commercial centre, that would see a private investment of €10 million and create 200 new jobs, according to Mijas town hall. Councillor Andrés Ruiz said the project could be voted on at the council meeting in December – but the development would still have to pass a period of public consultation, and get approval from Fuengirola and the Junta de Andalucía.
