A 39-year-old woman carrying a British passport was found unconscious in a drainage ditch in Murcia early on Saturday and, despite medical attention, she died later. Police say skid marks on the road and the discovery of a burned-out car nearby may mean she was the victim of a hit-and-run driver. The vehicle owner has been questioned but refused to answer on legal advice.
