Mijas town hall has approved its 2016 budget, which at €89.4 million in spending is up €2 million from last year’s budget, while revenues show an increase of €6 million, to €97 million, resulting in a €7.6 million surplus. The budget includes a 6% cut in the IBI property tax rate, while the ‘plusvalía’ real estate capital gains tax rate trebles, from 9% to 27%.
