Marbella’s mayor Ángeles Muñoz travelled to Madrid last week to meet with the head of Spain’s Treasury, José Enrique Fernández de Moya, to discuss the possibility of some of the assets seized during corruption cases, such as Malaya and Saqueo, being reverted back to the town in the form of investments. Sra Muñoz said her town hall “considers it a priority” that the town recovers some assets, and said there had been an “advance in negotiations”.
