The leader of the pro-independence CUP party in Cataluña has fled to Switzerland. Anna Gabriel was due to appear before the Supreme Court yesterday, Wednesday, on a charge of rebellion but has told a Swiss newspaper she would not get a “fair trial.” She accused the Spanish government of using “repression” to silence the independence movement while trying to resolve the Catalan crisis.
