A 45-year-old man was arrested by National Police on alleged animal abuse charges in Fuengirola on Monday afternoon, after he was caught trying to kill his dog in Plaza de la Constitución. According to eye-witness statements, the man had been trying to hang the pet with a leash before trying to kill it with his bare hands. The police were informed and both the man and the dog were caught, with the animal placed in the municipal pound.
